Introduction - It is not the purpose of this book to present material which maybe used only in presenting a physical education demonstration but also to stimulate interest in these demonstrations. Physical education does not mean a great deal to the average run of people. They look upon it as a fad and not a worthwhile part of education.

01. Demonstration - It is not necessary that a great deal of extra work be done in putting on a gym demonstration as almost all the numbers are regular parts of the school's physical education program. The one main thing that contributes more to the success of the demonstration is in the organization of it and in the ease and smoothness in which it goes along.

02. Programs - The arrangement of the activities on the program is of great importance and should merit the careful consideration of the director of the demonstration. The program should consist of a variety of activities and these activities should be so placed that similar activities will not follow each other. For instance it would not be well to have girls' and boys' tumbling follow one another.

03. Descriptive Talks - In order that the audience will have a complete understanding of the purpose of the demonstration and be able to grasp the meaning of each activity it is necessary to have a leader describe the program as it moves along. Here is a descriptive talk which may be given along with the program. It will help a great deal to have a loud speaking system.

04. Activities Part-1 - The activities given here have been used in physical education demonstrations and are well adapted for these demonstrations. There is a wide choice of activities, more may be added if needed, depending upon the facilities, personnel and general adaptability of such a demonstration to the general setup of each individual school.

05. Activities Part-2 - After reaching the end of the room, both girls and boys will turn facing each other about three and a half yards apart, thereby forming partners as in Diagram 69. When all couples are facing each other ropes are placed in jumping position. The odd couples will then jump forward doing a do-si-do and return, followed by the even couples going through the same procedure. Odd couples will then move forward and jump a circle around each other and back in place.
